The reason for this is to optimize your database and avoid redundant data.</p> <p>I suggest to learn a simple SQL join query to get the data from both tables at once. The reason is I don't have to do a lookup to see what the value of the digit entered equals.</p> <p>For Example if the drop down box options include "dog", I don't want a value "1" entered for dog, I want "dog" entered. Can I change the code in the form to do this? </p> <p>An example would be:</p> <p>&lt;option value="Dog" &gt;Dog&lt;/option&gt; instead of &lt;option value="1" &gt;Dog&lt;/option&gt;. </p>
