Not all hosting companies provide this service.</p> <p>If you want to bring it to the next level, you might want to consider using Linode (http://www.linode.com/backups/)<br /> They will backup the entire system, not just the database. </p> https://www.machform.com/forums/topic/a-cautionary-tale#post-15214 Wed, 04 Jul 2012 02:50:29 +0000 Lokidog 15214@https://www.machform.com/forums/ <p>Thanks to Appnitro Support (Yuniar) and my server host I have avoided a near catastrophe!</p> <p>A helpful collaegue in the office decide to clean up the phpMyAdmin of redundant tables and databases.............and yes by accident dropped the MachForm DB at the same time that was running 8 currently active forms for clients. luckily for me after some guidance by Appnitro support I contacted my server host to see if they had a backup of my DB somewhere, they said "oh no problem, we back-up everyones DB's every night just in case of things like this"<br /> And now everything is back to normal after a near financial disaster! I have since found out that not all hosting companies are this service minded. I have just learn't how to make my own back-ups with the phpMyAdmin panel for the future.</p> <p>My advice is, if you don't know how to back-up your own DB do it now and........BACK UP YOUR DATABASES!! </p>
