actually I may have found the solution. I had the option to send the file as an attachment checked. I am running some tests now but I think that this may have fixed the problem.

I was going to suggest that it's a setting issue either in php.ini (where you can set a file size upload limit), or in Machform editor, the file upload field properties, have a file upload size limit setting.

The expected behaviour would be, if the file size was exceeded would be a php error, and/or within machform, feedback telling the user the file is too big (when validating that field).

In this case it's different if you're actually seeing the uploaded file, but no feedback either by email or on screen. I don't know why this would be happening.

Out of curiosity can you state what the file upload limit in the Machform editor is set to? Also what is the file upload limit in php.ini?

When users send files under 10MB they get their email message, and success screen message, and I get my email also, no problems.

But when a user tries to upload a larger file, say anything over 10MB, they don't get any email confirmation, and the success message is not appearing, and also I get no email telling me there has been an entry. The files upload to the server fine because I can retrieve them from the "entries" tab in the back-end. However the user has no idea what happened, and I receive no email to tell me anything has gone on.

Anyone have similar issue?
