Thanks Saghalie - I'll take your advice and contact 3ix - Their live help is usually very good.

Adrian,

This is a 3ix problem, call your service provider and ask them to GRANT you priveledges to your database. It appears that not all privs where GRANT'd to you. Or if you have different sign ons, sign on with the username that has the admin priveleges for the database.

And yes to 'backup' and 'restore' a MySQL database you use the import and export feature in phpMyAdmin.

Saghalie.

I'm having a bit of a problem transferring my machform from my GoDaddy server to my new 3ix server - both have php myAdmin but I can't see any backup options , only export and import - I've tried this approach but i get an error 1044 - access denied for user when i import the file to a blank database created on the 3ix server.
Is there a tutorial or help I can use ?

Hi ..

You can simply upload/copy your all machform(old) files to new location and
if you are using different database server, you have to make database backup first and restore it to new database server.
