Sending dropdown values to Salesforce as text and not 1,2,3 etc

    I have successfully linked my form to Salesforce and all the data is being sent to the Salesforce page, however the drop down menus are only sending the values as numbers, so my first option gets sent as simply '1' rather than '6 months' and so on.

    I've read through some posts such as this - http://www.appnitro.com/forums/topic/retrieving-dropdown-values?replies=7 but I can't get my head around it.

    Can someone explain how to send the drop down values to Salesforce as text and not numbers?
