adding a timestamp field to an existing record

Hi there,
Just bought this package yesterday. Fabulous and I like it a lot.I am collecting customer subscription data with my form.I have a "send details" check box on my form to flag a request for information from me. What I would like to is to be able to record a date/time in that customer record corresponding to when I actually post the info to the customer. This is for my "admin" info only - not display on the form itself. I will then use this extra time stamp as a basis for further contact (prompts/reminders/loyalty checks - etc) with the client based on that initial timestamp.
Having seen the great support that is offered here I am hoping this is not too daft a question.

MySQL has a auto-timestamp field. Just add that type of field to the database. As a record is submitted thru the form, the timestamp is inserted external to Machform.

Hi there,
Isn't that the the last updated field? I don't want a last updated time stamp - I want to be able to record date/time of when I actually send out the information (by snail mail) against a particular registered user. I don't think mySQL will update user fields automatically.
But your more general point is a good one I think - i.e. can I add a time stamp field (manually) to the and of ap_form1 and write a little script to record the "current" date/time. I was concerned that the integrity of the data structure would be compromised by doing this.
The alternative is to use the time field I suppose - but I don't want that element displayed (except to me the admin of the form)
what do you think?

Whhoops,I think I just answered my own question. Sorry people!
A well designed product though which is reflected in how easily it is to adapt to individual users.
