Encrypted or not?

I read all the advertisement saying you get full source. However I saw someone had posted a review of the software that some of the files are encoded/encrypted. Searching the forums I've seen that the javascript files are encrypted!! The biggest problem is that some people are saying that you can't even change the titles of the forms themselves (e.g. country to county) and, if that is the case, it's a huge issue. After all, if you're creating forms you'll need to change some titles and if you'r buying open source then you expect to be able to modify these things. Which is it??? If the meaning is "full php shource code" but not javascript files that are needed to make it happen... well.... I'll deal with a question of honesty if there is one. Thanks for your reply in advance - the software looks superb and just need to clear this issue. Thanks!

Hello hink,
Yes, full PHP source code is available, as advertised :-)
However, some javascript files (not PHP files) are not provided with source code indeed. Particulary the javascript which handle the form building part.
Regarding the form title, are you sure? Since your form title is definitely editable.
In most cases, most people won't need to modify the javascript file. Search this forum and you'll find tons of customization without the need to modify the javascript file.
Can you let me know what's your specific need? I might be able to help.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I found out that the javascript was encrypted because someone was saying that the items he needed to change were unfortunately in the javascript file. Do a search for "country" and "county" even on these forums and you'll see one of the examples that helped me spot some of the limitations.
To be perfectly 100% honest... if you don't have any other disclosure, the "full PHP source code" is misleading advertising. You should probably make some change to let people know it's not 100% open source since I'm sure it's not your intention to deliberately mislead people into buying the software and thinking they are getting open source. Being perfectly straightforward with that line of thinking, all the HTML files might also be encoded too. So could the css files. Javascript is virtually one of the essentials such as html and css that comes with any script.
While I really like the program, I'm trying to make sure that what it will enable me to do is set up all the field names as I wish as well as the requirements for the forms. I was under the impression from another owner that you're really best served using the forms as provided, for the most part. If they work for you then this script will do very well. If you need to modify the forms then you may run into limitations, as per the above.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Sorry if the "full PHP source code" sounds misleading to you. As a matter of fact, we really intend to write it that way "full PHP source code" and not "full source code" (this one is definitely misleading).
Some other company who sell PHP application doesn't even provide you with PHP source code. So I believe the statement "full PHP source code" is appropriate to advertise.
Anyway, we also backed up with our 30 days money back guarantee.
Within 30 days of purchase, you can always ask a refund if MachForm doesn't really suit your need.So far, this worked great for all of us.
Thank you for your suggestions though, I appreciate it.

Again - thanks for the honest answer on the code but I'm still curious to know the answer as to whether you can change the forms and their elements. I was told that you are pretty much stuck to "as is" for the much of them and hope this isn't the case. I see you've got conference registration, wedding, etc. and I was wondering if I could make a completely new form with my own settings and items.
Here's another example. I like that you have an "address form" but only the country is a drop down. Since I'll be using this for the US, I would like the "State" field to be a dropdown but I can't find any way to change that field. Additionally, let's say I wanted to changed the Country field to "County" since I will be using the form for that purpose and not internationally. Can I get rid or change the Country field?
Thanks for the answers in advance. For the most part it's very impressive and just hope we can make these expected modifications.

Ah... I see. I think you can create a new form from scratch and that answers my question. I guess the other person didn't realize that the forms can be modified as long as you create them froms stratch, thanks.
