Is any of the data submitted by a form encrypted in the database.

I would like to use Machform in an school setting. I need to know that they data held in the Machform DB is encrypted in some way?

Is any / all / some data encrypted?

If the answer is yes, all - great!!

If it's some or none, is this on the roadmap / is this possible or too costly in terms of server resources.

I know that data security is a real concern for many people these days.

    Thanks.

MachForm currently doesn't do any data encryption with the storage, you'll need to implement your own MySQL encryption using additional software.

    Here are some options:
    http://mydiamo.com/
    http://netlib.com/products/mysql-encryption/

If you're using Amazon AWS, their MySQL RDS also offer encryption.

That being said, we're looking forward to add support for application-level encryption (it's costly in terms of server resources indeed), without using any of the above solutions.

Yuniar, I am glad to hear you are considering adding support for database encryption to Machform and I look forward to the time when it will be available. I will sleep easier at night once this feature is in place, now that more and more people at our college are starting to collect information with Machform.

If you can provide guidelines to service resource usage by this feature once it it offered, that would be very helpful.
