Linking data from different forms

    I have a 2-part question.

    1) I'm using multiple forms to collect data related to one event - eg. one on demographics, one on details of the event, one on outcome. Is there a simple way to link the forms so when I review the entered data it's clear which records relate to each other?

    2) One potential problem is that the user entering some of the details will not be the same as the first user who creates the record. Ideally therefore, when someone logs in to enter the outcome information, they would enter some basic information again and the server would display a list of records that match the data they've entered, e.g. with a "Do you mean this record?" pop-up to allow them to link the new entry to an old record. Is there an easy way to do this?

I appreciate this is above and beyond what MachForm is intended for, but if you could give me any pointers as to how I might go about doing these things I'd be grateful.

    Many thanks,

    Iain

    Hi Iain,

I'm afraid there won't be easy option to do all those tasks. You will need to do pretty much custom coding for that.

One thing I could think of, as a work around, is to put some kind of identifier field into all those related forms. Your users will need to enter unique identifier for each form, so that you could relate them easily. Perhaps an email field?
