MachForm on a Local Testing Server

Hi,
I've just purchased MachForm for a client of mine. I wanted to install the software locally so I can set it up and test it on a test version of the site. I use MAMP on my iMac to view database driven pages.
If I do this, do I then have to carry out the installation process again and basically start from the beginning when I want to move it to the live site or can I copy the files across? (providing I update database details etc.)
Do most people who use MachForm work on it on the live site or do you set it up locally first? Just wondering how other people deal with this.
Thanks.

We've noticed some people are working on local server first and then transfer it to the live site when all are ready.
While some others are uploading it directly to the live site.
Both are fine. If you are running MachForm on local server, no need to redo the installation process again on the live site.
Simply transfer your machform database (you can use phpMyAdmin from MAMP to export/import the database) and files into your live site and all your forms will be up and running. You will need to adjust the config.php file though, so that it would use your live site database settings.
