    Will renaming the index.php file to something different cause a problem. The reason why, I am just trying to hide the admin login page better by renaming it to something longer and different then index.php. This will prevent someone in the address bar to back it out to the directory and get the login page.

    There should be no problem with that. You can rename it to whatever you want.
