Resolved: SMTP over Office365 (TLS) and SwiftMailer

    Hi there,

    on a windows server, we had a problem sending mails over a SMTP server from office365, (TLS) it did not work with following error:
    error:1408F10B:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\***\machform\lib\swift-mailer\classes\Swift\Transport\StreamBuffer.php on line 271

    The SwiftMailer component was attempting to connect using TLS, when instead it first needed to connect in plaintext, and then initiate the TLS connection.

    After a upgrade from Swiftmailer to v5 everything is working now as expected.

    Could you please list the steps taken to accomplish this? I believe I am having the same problem.
