I have no clue what the basic FTP and build database means. I am not tech sound at all. I want MachForms to install this for me but don't know what they mean FTP and local host etc...

    Help!

A database is a storage system for large amounts of data, separated in to related, or unrelated "tables", "fields" and "records". The data can then be retrieved by means of "queries". A popular database system available on most hosts is MySQL - SQL stands for Simple Query Language. Don't worry if this is beyond you - just trying to answer your question (subject line), "what is a database?".

FTP is "File Transfer Protocol" - a means by which to transfer files and folders from one computer to another - for example, publishing (transferring) files from your PC to a web host.

The most immediate information Appnitro needs is the following:

    - a log on name and password for your FTP account

    - a database name, database user and password and database host-name.

    - Possibly the log-on name/password to your control panel so Appnitro can install the application and the web address to the control panel.

Ask your host about the above details, what they are etc. Ensure first that your host supports PHP scripting and MySQL databases. All the above information can be / should be provided by your hosting service company when you sign-up for a hosting account. Can you confirm you have a hosting account, and a domain name (web address like www.yoursite.com)?

Your Host's support could possibly create the database for you and give you the details that Appnitro needs or if you give Appnitro the "control panel" detail they can go in and create the database from their end. Your host might also be able to create a temporary FTP account for Appnitro to access.

You can give them the link to Appnitro's site, so they know what application you want to install - show them the installation instructions page so they are aware what information you need to proceed forward with this installation -the support / installation instruction is here - http://www.appnitro.com/installation.
